In an unprecedented operation, the explosion of pagers and wireless belonging to members of Hezbollah in Lebanon killed 37 people and injured about 4000 people. The Islamists usually declare themselves the victors of the field under any circumstances, but this time they could not hide their astonishment and disorientation from this operation. In this regard, Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon, gave a speech on this issue on Thursday, September 19, 2024, two days after the pager explosion operation.

This speech has been a perfect example of Islamist behavior policy in the last two decades. Therefore, in this article, without mentioning the violation of human rights by Israel, this behavioral policy is shown by analyzing Hassan Nasrallah’s speech.

The most important points of this speech are 1- Violation of human rights by the enemy. 2- Reviving the self-confidence of Hezbollah members. 3- Admitting the success of the enemy.

1. Violation of human rights by the enemy

Hassan Nasrallah said that “the enemy (Israel) has violated moral, human and national standards in this operation and crossed the red line.” Hassan Nasrallah should be asked what are you talking about? Does Hassan Nasrallah mean moral and human standards, the same principles that are based on human rights? Does Hassan Nasrallah believe in human moral standards?

The formation of Islamism as an ideological political movement was based on the belief that forgetting the traditional standards and norms in the Islamic land and replacing them with modern human sciences provides the necessary ground for colonization. Therefore, the fight against colonialism depends on the fight against human principles and standards.

Hezbollah, ISIS, Taliban, and other Islamist groups consider it their Sharia duty to oppose human standards. Islamists believe that humanity is obliged to implement divine decrees in private and public spheres. From the point of view of Islamists, any political system and system of knowledge that contradicts this ruling is doomed and Muslims must fight against it.

This tendency is not only specific to terrorist groups such as ISIS and al-Qaeda, but the established Islamist governments consider such a duty for themselves. Look at the Taliban government in Afghanistan. They apply the most anti-human behavior, especially against women. If you think they believe their actions are crimes against humanity, you are completely wrong.

They consider themselves as God’s sincere servants who fulfill their religious duty. Look at the behavior of the Islamic government in Iran. The killing of thousands of political opponents during the lifetime of this regime says it all. These cases are not a new issue, what is noteworthy is Hassan Nasrallah’s claim that others adhere to moral and humane standards. Such a claim has been seen many times by the authorities of the Islamic regime ruling Iran.

2- Reviving the self-confidence of Hezbollah members

Acknowledging the magnitude of the blow to Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah says: “Tuesday and Wednesday were a big test for us, and we will pass this test with God’s grace.” Those who have spent their lives under the rule of Islamic regimes understand the meaning of this word very well. From the point of view of Islamists, life in the mortal world is the stage of divine examination.

Humanity was created to participate in this examination. The exam result determines the status of people in the afterlife. The shape and form and the concrete and objective purpose of this exam are determined by religious commentators. In the discourse of Islamists who seek to fight against human knowledge and the establishment of an Islamic government in the world, the conditions and purpose of the divine examination are not outside of this discourse.

Hezbollah considers the armed struggle to establish an Islamic government as a divine examination. Therefore, every problem in this way is nothing but a test. With the title of this topic, Hassan Nasrallah insinuates to his fans that the explosion of pagers is part of the divine test. He hopes to bring back the lost morale of Hezbollah members in this way. Islamism is a political ideology that has been able to build its meaningful foundations by using the religious standards of Muslims. In this regard, Hassan Nasrallah is also trying to use these beliefs to return the necessary motivation for political and armed struggle to the members of Hezbollah.

3- Admitting the success of the enemy

Hassan Nasrallah said Israel is technologically superior to the Axis of Resistance because it is supported by the United States and other technological superpowers. Hassan Nasrallah’s words are noteworthy because we have never seen Islamists admit the success of the enemy. This practice of Islamists is based on the same religious ideological foundations that they try to persuade their followers to believe. When all the events and issues of life are considered as a divine examination, then the victory of the enemy is considered a divine test of the faith of the followers.

What is important from the point of view of Islamists is the continuation of the struggle for divine sovereignty. Therefore, the injuries inflicted in this way are considered to be victory if they do not cause a disturbance in the motivation and morale of the continuation of the struggle. With the same logic, one can understand why the followers of such groups participate in suicide operations.

Hassan Nasrallah’s words are a clear example of the behavioral policy of Islamists during the last two decades. Islamists emphasize moral and humanitarian standards based on human rights through their media and propaganda capabilities with companionship the global public opinion to pressure their enemies and The behavior of other forces. On the other hand, they believe that the behavior of Islamists is a kind of religious duty that God has put on them. A duty that requires them to fight with moral and human standards based on human rights to establish the divine government.
